Koksijde Air Base

Organized by the Belgian Air Component (ex-Belgian Air Force) the Koksijde Air Show took place on July 6 and 7 of 2011 to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Belgian Air Force. The Koksijde Air Base is located near the North Sea coastline and it is renowned for organizing great air shows. This year was no exception especially when it managed to guarantee the presence of eight military aerobatic teams and one civilian, including the USAF Thunderbirds, the Red Arrows, the Patrouille de France, the Turkish Stars and the Saudi Arabian Hawks. Besides the demonstration teams and the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Belgian Air Force, the organization managed to present a mixed line-up of modern and classic aircraft including Harvard, Fouga Magister, Dragon Rapide, DC-3 Dakota, Spitfire and many helicopters both in the flying and static displays. |
